Burnished Platinum Eagles

In 2006, the United States Mint introduced a new collectible version of the Platinum Eagle. Many collector refer to these coins as "burnished Platinum Eagles" since the coins are struck on specially burnished blanks and carry the "W" mint mark. These coins typically have very low mintages, providing some potential for the heightened interest from collectors.
